Festival Pass information

Passes to the 2017 Millay Arts and Poetry Festival are now on sale! Purchase your passes today for $235 and join us for three days as we bring 35 events with 80 performers and presenters to six venues in lovely, downtown Rockland, Maine!

The Festival Pass is an “all access” pass—your key to each of the 35 events! Your purchase of a Festival Pass will allow us to pay the artists, and poets, and biographers, and musicians, and actors— every one of the 80 presenters— for their work.

The Festival is not a “fund raiser.” This is an act of investment in community that is budgeted so as to pay for itself— your Festival Pass buys you every cent of value available in the festival structure. Without the Festival and your purchase of a Pass, these events and artists and presenters and performers would not be here. You make that possible.

The Festival Pass is structured to keep your cost of attending the festival well below what the retail price of the individual tickets would cost.  In today’s market, buying an individual ticket for every event would cost you $685.  Your Festival Pass is priced at $235 for adults, and at $175 for students.

This is a remarkable savings— 67% discount for adults and 74% discount for students.  That is a per event price of $6.71 for adults, and $5.00 for students.  Just the six major events at the Strand price out at less than $40 a ticket with your Festival Pass!

Please. Join with us in celebration of Vincent, and community, and art, and artists, and poetry, and poets.

Please Note:

  • For events at The Strand, all Passholders MUST arrive at the venue at least 30 minutes before showtime in order to access the priority queue and to claim your seat. You will be admitted at that time.
  • All other events and venues have limited seating and will be available on a first come, first served basis.
  • Festival Badges and Programs will be available at the Festival desk located in the lobby of The Strand. You will need a printed or electronic verification of your purchase of a Pass, and those who purchase a Student Pass will need a form of verifying identification as well as proof of purchase.

Fundraising Event for Millay House Rockland
featuring The DaPonte String Quartet

a Poetry Concert
Saturday, September, 9 at 4:30pm

Join us for a remarkable opportunity to experience the words of Millay, the music of The DaPonte String Quartet, and Millay inspired visual art in one of the most beautiful galleries in Rockland.

Thomas O’Donovan of Harbor Square Gallery has invited artists to produce Millay inspired works for the festival, and they will be on display during the Poetry Concert. Sarah MacDonnell, who is playing Millay in the new stage piece, “Vincent,” will read Millay poems in antiphonal conversation with music programmed and performed by the Quartet. A marvelous “poetry concert” in a marvelous space. And, just to make sure the event is unforgettable, Melody Wolfertz of of In Good Company is catering a lavish reception immediately following the concert. With food and drink in hand, we will move to the roof top Muir Sculpture Garden for a September sunset. Millay, DaPonte, fabulous art, Harbor Square Gallery, In Good Company, a Maine September sunset. . . What could be better?
