September 7, 8, 9, 2018 | Rockland, Maine

The Millay Arts and Poetry Festival is a three day series of 35 events and performances, featuring more than 80 performers, authors, presenters, poets, actors, musicians, and visual artists. It is a celebration of the art and legacy of Edna St. Vincent Millay. Everyone is invited!

Festival Overview

Vincent, as Millay preferred to be called in her youth, was born in Rockland in 1892. First and foremost a poet, she was also a musician, singer, actress, playwright, librettist, activist and feminist. It is time that her birthplace, Rockland, known for its celebration of the arts, bring diverse artistic audiences together under the aegis of Millay. To that end, the Millay Arts and Poetry Festival will feature art, and theatre, and music as well as poets and poetry.

Come for what you know, and cross over into another creative realm to experience what artists can produce when given the challenge of responding to the complex person known as Edna St. Vincent Millay.

Please know that while we want to make it possible for everyone to attend, we have significant festival bills to pay. We need your help. Pay what you can to attend any event, and help us give this exciting festival to the community by contributing generously.

A Note from The Board of Directors of Millay House Rockland

The Board of Directors of Millay House Rockland is celebrating the success of the first Millay Arts and Poetry Festival, but it is also a time for retrospection, reflection and contemplation.
