Millay House Birthday Open House

There will be a celebration of Edna St. Vincent Millay’s 133rd birthday this Saturday at her childhood home in Rockland, complete with refreshments, poetry readings, a look at the upcoming year and more.

Millay’s birthday has been celebrated annually since 2016, when philanthropist Roxanne Quimby helped the Rockland Historical Society purchase the double house on Broadway where the poet was born. The nonprofit Millay House Rockland was founded the following year to own the house, restore it and sponsor literary events to celebrate the life and work of Millay.
