Millay House Rockland, a non-profit corporation, exists to promote an appreciation of Maine’s literary history through the preservation of the birthplace and home of Pulitzer Prize wining poet Edna St. Vincent Millay, and to support literary arts and artists in this space. To this end, this home is available exclusively to writers, artists, or other creative practitioners.

A two-bedroom rental in Rockland Maine for a writer, artist, or creative professional, in the house where American poet Edna St. Vincent Millay was born. The north half of the historic double house is located within walking distance of the Farnsworth Art Museum, the Rockland Public Library, downtown, and the harbor.
The rental contains a living room, a dining room, a modern kitchen, two bedrooms, an office, a bathroom, a powder room, steep stairs, plus a shared washer and dryer, and a garage. Water, sewer, lawn care, snow removal, and weekly trash pick-up are provided.
No children, no pets, and no smoking indoors are allowed. Suitable for one or two adults. The tenant must pay for heat and electricity.
Rent on the one-year lease is $2,000 per month. Applications will be considered by November 15, 2024.
